This Class 3A Division II Region II Bi-District Game is played at Lobo Stadium in Longview. The Gilmer Buckeyes (10-0, 5-0) are the champions of District 16-3A and the Atlanta Rabbits (5-5, 3-2) are the third place team out of District 15-3A. Miffy rabbit – A bunny recovering from pasteurella / head tilt – Part 1

Miffy was 6 years old in this video. She contracted what we believe to be pasteurella, characterised by the classic head-tilt and multiple infections of the ears, eyes and respiratory system. For a while she was bed-ridden and sedated during her ten week period of illness, during which time I didn’t leave her side. At her worst, she couldn’t eat, drink, walk or do anything for herself. Miffy eventually learnt to drink on her own without being syringe-fed. The affection displayed in this video was one of the many reasons I fought for her. Mentally she was the same inquisitive bunny and trying to do everything she’d always done!

This video is of when I introduced my rabbit to my rats for the very first time. Introducing two different species to each other is not something you should just do because you think it could be fun to watch and that the animals could play together. Different species have different ways to communicate, so there’s really no point in letting two species meet if they don’t have to. Both rats and rabbits can injure each other pretty badly if they want to. In this case, I’m planning on letting my rats run loose in my apartment. My rabbit does, too, so it would be great if they could get along. These rats are only 11 weeks old, so I didn’t think they would be very aggressive towards the rabbit. I’ve never seen my rabbit, Filip, be aggressive towards any other animal, so I was pretty sure of how he would react. Thing is that he actually even got a bit scared of the rats. I think they’re grossing him out a little bit. Rabbits also have a bacteria, living naturally in their lungs, called Bordetella brochiseptica, which could cause illness in rats. So that is also something you should consider before introducing rats and rabbits to each other, if you do have a reason to introduce them at all. Music: Enya – The First of Autumn
